Within the Penang - Phuket Epic, aside from the opportunity to cycle from Penang to Phuket, there resides two extraordinary, shorter but equally adventurous stand-alone rides.
If the whole 4-day epic is two daunting, if you don't have the time, or if you simply fancy cramming an adventure into a long weekend, these are great options.
You need not worry - support is always at hand and if you can't go on, you can always jump in the vehicle if you no longer wish to try to cycle every last mile - that's what it's there for! We also have mechanics who will fix your bike if it's gone wrong, and we can arrange cycle hire for you. For a great many people, this is the first time they have ever signed up to an adventure cycling ride.
The ride is challenging - those new to adventure cycling are however welcome, so long as you're up for the challenge. Humphrey had never ridden much on his bike before he rode it from London to Hong Kong. No problem if you don't make it! The only rule we have is that if you will not make it by dark, you must be collected by the van.
THE PHUKET DASH starts on Ao Nang beach, one of the most stunning seaside places that you can find in Asia. The 155km distance is challenging, but genuinely within reach of most reasonably fit people who are "up for a challenge." It will take you through deep Thai countryside, through tiny villages where the locals will wave and cheer, over lush hills and through stunning karst topography. To cap it off, you will finish on Mai Khao beach, one of the loveliest parts of Phuket, which is also very convenient for the airport. Ideal if you have a family in tow, this is the ULTIMATE weekend's break. Check out the details >here
THE PENANG - KRABI ADVENTURE CHALLENGE is a lovely and very satisfying 3-day ride. Starting from Georgetown Penang you will marvel at the remote jungle beauty of Northern Malaysia and experience the thrill of crossing the remote hilltop land border into Thailand. The ride through southern Thailand is a true pleasure on excellent asphalt surfaces and the food is exceptional. You'll miss out on a great last day to Phuket, but you may be keener to have a day over the weekend to relax on Ao Nang or Railay beach at the end, before having to head home.
